When you’re choosing childcare, you want to know who will be looking after your child.

The owners of Teepee Day Nursery, Bracknell, Emma and David Tennant, have a wealth of qualifications and experience in looking after and educating young children.

All our team members are qualified in paediatric first aid and are chosen for their friendliness and love of children.

The owners: Emma and David

I’m Emma Tennant, and I set up Teepee Day Nursery, Bracknell in 2003. At the time, I wanted to go back to my job at Johnson & Johnson, but couldn’t find a good enough nursery locally. My husband David and I bought the nursery when Phoebe was 18 months and I was pregnant with Ben. Both children went through Teepee before moving on to school.

I have always had a passion for providing the very best care for babies and children. Before having children, I trained as a nurse and a midwife. More recently, I completed a postgraduate diploma in Early Years and a Master’s in Education at Reading University.

David brings his health & safety expertise to the nursery. He’s a Health & Safety consultant, and has worked on major infrastructure projects such as Hinkley Point nuclear power station and HS2. His current project is the restoration of the Houses of Parliament. Busy as he is, we make the most of his corporate expertise on policies, procedures, audit, and current thinking on H&S matters.

Day nurseries tend to be either small businesses that are privately run, or larger nurseries that are part of a chain. Teepee is the best of both worlds. It’s a small, loving children’s nursery with the award-winning mentality and best practice of a much larger business.

David and I are both totally committed to the care and education of our youngest children, and I hope you’ll find that shows in the way we run our nursery.
