I hate to say it but it’s that time of year again when we are starting to lose the summer sun and the weather is turning cooler (we’re particularly noticing the difference today, compared to yesterday)!
Outdoor play is a critical part of your child’s learning and we need to continue to use the garden the best that we can. Please bring in warmer coats and wet weather clothing to nursery including wellington boots, so the children can have lots of fun splashing in the puddles!
There are lots of activities you could try at home here are just a few:
- Making windmills – use different coloured paper and a stick and see what happens. http://www.housetohome.co.uk/articles/how-to-make-a-paper-windmill-easy-step-by-step-instructions_530888.html
- Make a wind chime – Add lots of different items to a stick and hang it up.
- Puddles – Younger children could collect the water out of a puddle and move it somewhere else. Make tracks through the water with your bike or boots. Add washing up liquid to the puddle and make bubbles.
- Make a weather station.
