Next week we are celebrating International Dot day, this is on Friday 15th September however we have chosen to celebrate it throughout the week. This is to celebrate and encourage early mark making skills and creativity, and to help children to become confident within this area of learning and development.
On Tuesday 12th September we would like to dress up in something spotty, so please give your child the option to wear something spotty on this day if they would like to!
If you would like to learn more, International Dot day comes from the book ‘The Dot’ which is a story book by Peter H. Reynolds. This book shares the story of a girl who begins a journey of self-discovery after a caring teacher challenges her to “make her mark.” There is website where you can find more information and activity inspiration: http://www.thedotclub.org/dotday/
