As the end of the year draws to a close and we get ready to welcome in 2017, we’d like to take the opportunity to reflect on everything we have achieved in 2016. We have had an amazing year with plenty to look back and celebrate on. We started the year by gaining an award of excellence from the Children’s Food Trust, we are super proud of this award and our menus and recipes. Our recipes were chosen to be showcased to other settings by the Children’s Food trust and we’ve had parents ask us for the recipes for their children’s favourite dishes as well as parents promoting our menu to prospective parents, thank you!
We then moved on to achieve our Investor’s in People and received a GOLD award. This was a huge achievement for us and we were extensively quizzed as a team by a very robust assessor. This award means so much to us as it really shows how much we invest in all our team members and the level of support, coaching and mentoring we provide as well as training and recognition.
We gained a GOOD from Ofsted at The Wigwam after being inspected. This is a huge achievement as it is well known in our sector that Ofsted have significantly raised the bar within the current inspection cycle and so it is increasing harder for settings to gain a good grade. This really was a cross nursery team effort and we are really grateful to all our team members for all their hard work, passion and dedication.
We have had lots of team progression with lots of team gaining their degrees, NVQ’S and diplomas in childcare and education. And lots of team embarking on new qualifications from NVQ to forest school and Masters Degrees. This knowledge is critical to our practice and we feel lucky to have many team furthering their knowledge and education.
We have lots to look forward to in 2017 as we move forward to hopefully gain our Millie’s Mark. This is an assessed process with thorough checking of all our first aid policies and procedures and 100% compliance with all team having a valid paediatric first aid certificate from full training. We will welcome new team members at The Wigwam in the New Year we look forward to them joining us. We also welcome some team babies at the Teepee. 2017 is set to be a busy but amazing year for us at both nurseries and we are very much looking forward to this.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
