Case of Gastroenteritis in the Bouncing Bears

Gastroenteritis/Diarrhoea and Vomiting

What is it?

Gastroenteritis is an infection, which causes stomach upset. It may be caused by a number of different germs including viruses.
How do I know if someone has it
The main symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting nausea, abdominal pain and fever.
Period the child should be kept away from nursery – 48 hours from last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting
However, so as to minimise the further spread of infection at nursery and the overall amount of time children spend away, we may decide to exclude children, if more cases are diagnosed.  The manager on duty will make this decision.
