The children have loved watching the chicks hatch and grow and have learnt to care for them as we cleaned their bed and bathed them daily. Over the time we had them, all the children built up the confidence to hold them.
We talked a lot about love and kindness, who is special to us, who we love and how we can show love and kindness. We went to the library and found lots of special books about love and shared them in our group times. The children took part in lots of creative activities – valentines cards, painting hanging love hearts, they made ‘love bugs’
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and World Book Day
The Panthers have shown an interest in this story and engage in role play around this story in the garden. We will be extending this by going for a walk to the woods, creative activities, adventures with Finn bear, sensory activities and role play opportunities.
As it’s World book day on Thursday 2nd March, we would like to invite all children and staff to dress up as their favourite character and to bring their favourite book so we can share it amongst their friends (p.s. if you don’t have an outfit for their favourite character, any dress up clothing will be fine)!
Can we please ask all parents to have a look through the ‘lost property’ clothes boxes which are currently getting rather full in the Panthers area, so that we can hopefully reunite some of these lost items with their owners. In an attempt to reduce the number of clothes going astray, if we could please ask you to name as much of your child’s clothing as possible (particularly the more removable items), it would be really helpful and much appreciated.
